Title:                            Marketing Assistant/Guest Services Representative (Part-time)

Location:                    Quinte Mall

Reporting To:             Marketing Manager & Guest Services Supervisor


This is a part-time position with dual responsibilities (approximately 22 hours per week).


  • Reporting to the Marketing Manager as it relates to marketing responsibilities and the Guest Services Supervisor regarding the Guest Services Representative duties and responsibilities

  • Marketing Assistant oversees the execution of all internal and external online and digital communication across all channels for Quinte Mall.

  • Be an active, efficient and effective member of the Guest Services TEAM

  • Provide premium customer service through established programs, including but not limited to providing information, support and services to the shopping and travelling public

    Main Objectives:

    The position is tailored to be 30% Digital Marketing Management, 50% Guest Services Tasks, and 20% Event Coordination. This position plays a key role in perception of the property for all audiences, and communications support for the Marketing Department and Guest Services.

  • Responsibilities:

    Marketing Assistant:

  • Development of social media tactics and content schedule in conjunction with the Marketing Manager, with the objective of increasing website traffic and leads, developing new audiences and maintain a focus on brand protection.

  • Monitor, collect and report on web and other digital analytics, oversee implementation of social media campaigns including public relations, research and trend following.

  • Regularly collect and present insights gained from social media monitoring to the Marketing Manager to help evolve Marketing strategies in a timely fashion.

  • Complete other projects and tasks as directed by management.

  • Develop Content for Quinte Mall Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds.

  • Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities including online advocacy, writing editorial, community-outreach efforts, promotions, etc.

  • Become an advocate of Quinte Mall in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.

  • Provide premium customer service through established programs, including but not limited to providing information, support and services to the shopping and travelling public

  • Act as a liaison with tenants

  • Provide regular training in social media for new and existing Guest Services staff members and retailers.

  • Cultivate relationships with Quinte Mall Retailers and continually stay abreast of product offerings and store promotions.

  • Event Coordination assistance as required.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager.

  • Guest Services Representative:

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service to all patrons and tenants by being knowledgeable about the property and its offerings

  • Sale of Mall Gift Cards which includes:

    • daily deposits

    • shift reports and logs

    • distribution of gift-with-purchase items

  • Telephone, Email and In-Person Inquiries

  • Opening & Closing duties as per the Guest Services Supervisor

  • Prepare and manage various customer tracking initiatives

  • Provide Customer assistance with all available mall services.

  • Assist other mall personnel (Security and Maintenance) to provide an exceptional Customer Experience, promoting a safe and clean environment

  • Assist with various on-site promotions and events

  • Collating various documentation for shopping centre distribution, banner coordination, compiling and updating store and directory information, ballot counting and assisting with various display set-ups

  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization at the workspace

  • Ensure appropriate levels of inventory for administration supplies, gift cards, etc. are maintained

  • Other duties as assigned by the Guest Services Supervisor.

  • And most importantly, ensuring that our Customers leave our shopping centre happy with all of their needs met


  • Qualifications:

    Completion of a College or University Degree or Diploma in Marketing or related program. Equivalencies will be considered.

  • Understanding of good customer service practices.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Able to work evenings and weekends when required for events, promotions and management of social media channels on an as needed basis, and in times of crisis.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios for retailers and overall Quinte Mall brand promotion.

  • Public relations, Marketing, Sales, and/or Customer Service experience is considered an asset.

  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite

  • Excellent customer service skills with a drive to go above and beyond

  • Ability to work in a “team” environment

  • Creative and self-motivated

  • Must be able to provide clear criminal records check.
